For employers

Build AI capability inside your engineering team

A levy-funded machine learning engineer apprenticeship for experienced software engineers and data scientists. One afternoon a week at our central London campus, with project work feeding back into your roadmap.

Projects tied to your roadmap

outcomes

Modules are designed to feed useful work back to your team. Wherever the curriculum overlaps with your roadmap, your engineer can prototype against your data and product problems.

Levy funded

funding

Each place costs £22,000, fully funded through the apprenticeship levy. If you do not pay the levy, our partners cover the full cost. Either way, there is no direct cost to your business.

Peer-led discussion every session

cohort

Our current cohort has 24 apprentices from 23 different companies, all building AI products, ML pipelines, and agentic systems. Each session ends with peers sharing new techniques and comparing what does and doesn't hold up in production.

52 in-person workshops

format

All training is in-person at our Old Street campus. Each week your engineer spends an afternoon programming alongside experienced peers, working at the limits of their understanding.

Taught by Izaak and Dan

faculty

Training is delivered directly by Izaak and Dan. Izaak is our CTO, with 12 years of engineering experience and three years running our AI programme. Dan founded Founders and Coders 13 years ago.

Low disruption for the team

schedule

One training afternoon a week at our campus (around four hours) is the only fixed time away. The rest of the week, your engineer will be at their desk, bringing new capability back to the team as they learn.

Funding

How is the apprenticeship paid for?

levy

The £22,000 training cost is funded through the apprenticeship levy. For levy-paying employers there is no direct invoice. Funds are drawn from your existing levy account.

What if we don't pay the levy?

partner

Our partners cover the full training cost for eligible non-levy employers. We'll talk you through the route on a 20-minute call.
